Herve Leger has not only succeeded in making the "bandage dress" a staple for any fashion-savvy wardrobe, its the go-to collection for the ultimate "F*#K me" dress that will have you maintaining you class, dignity and style (not an easy feat).  Which is why it was surprising to see so little skin in on the runway for its Fall 2013 RTW collection.  But skin or no skin, the collection was just as vamp, sexy and cool as we've come to expect.

The Theatre at Lincoln Center was fully packed as no one wanted to miss one of the biggest shows of MBFW, and the first few looks to enter the runway were an unexpected take on HL's signature designs.  Below-the-knee dresses that flared from the hip, streamlined leather trims and sporty caps took the collection to a whole new level.

Accessories played a major role in the completing the looks including leather harnesses and clutches.  Matching leggings were one of my favorite components in this collection, making it relevant and wearable.

Separates also played a bigger role in this collection than what we've seen from HL in the past.  Trousers, fur-trimmed jackets and even a midriff-bearing sequined top fit for a finely toned goddess came together in street-chic looks.

But not to worry -- the bandage dress still lives on and is even better in its present form.  The runway was a-glitter with rhinestone embellishments that added sparkling pops of color and intricate designs.  Not only are these dresses more glam, but surprisingly tasteful when combined with the added length and transparent sleeves.
