Milena Encheva previewed the Resort 2015 collection of her New York based womenswear label Minnoji in an intimate studio presentation yesterday evening.  The "samurai" influenced pieces were both strong and feminine with architectural silhouettes balanced by soft draping fabrics.  In keeping with the theme, models emerged from a back room one by one, falling in line after demonstrating a series of martial-arts like kicks and poses (interpretation: I love my look and anyone who doesn't can prepare for an ass-kicking).  Accessories were limited to black armbands while hair was done up in simple, loose chignons.  It's obvious the FIT grad designs with her peers in mind; cutout details and hemline choices were decidedly more youthful but the muted palette of mostly neutral colors (save for a couple pops of pale pink) offered a subtle sophistication, and the potential to transition from day to evening carries appeal for the "young professional" set.
