Thanks to Swarovski and Gaia&Gino, fifteen lucky individuals will have found a one- of-a-kind vase under their tree this Christmas. The celebrity designed limited edition vases were sold in an auction entitled The Goddess Adorned by Housing Works until December 20, 2011 and proceeds went to the charity to help benefit its commitment to ending AIDS and homelessness.
Designed by Harry Allen, the vases dripped in Swarovski Elements crystals and were decorated by celebrities including Bethenny Frankel, Carson Kressley, Kelly Rutherford, Melissa Joan Hart, Tinsley Mortimer and Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen for Elizabeth and James. Each vase showed-off the personal style and artistic talents of its designers, who obviously spared no opportunity to make sure their creation would be a coveted centerpiece to anyone’s décor.
Of course such attention worthy designs would need an equally fabulous audience, so the Swarovski Crystallized concept store in Soho hosted a fashionable event on December 6 to celebrate the auction. The event drew in so many guests that it was hard to move around (and at times even breathe). But no one seemed to mind being stuck between celebs, yummy cocktails and snacks, and a rainbow of crystals. From the stylish crowd to the glittering displays, the event was definitely worth braving an intensely rainy New York night.
