Mark your calendars! Target announced yesterday that Jason Wu would be the next designer to launch a limited-edition collection exclusively for Target stores. After the frenzy created by the Missoni for Target collection, launched September 13th, 2011, Target has kept up its fashion-forward momentum with this latest news.
Jason Wu has been a staple in high-fashion since launching his first ready-to-wear collection in Fall of 2006. When describing what could be expected of this highly-anticipated collection for Target, Wu said "My collection for Target embodies my signature aesthetic of feminine sophistication, with a mischievous nod to the 1960's." If Wu is able to squeeze as much of those elements into one collection as he is words like "sophistication", "mischievous" and "1960's" into one sentence (and I'm sure he will), these pieces are definitely going to be worthy of any fashionista's closet.
We should all be prepared, however, as this is a limited-edition collection and not part of Target's GO International or Designer Collaboration programs. The Jason Wu for Target Collection will only be available from February 5th - March 6th, 2012, and if recent events have been any indication of what to expect I doubt there will much left to choose from within a few days of its release. Prices will range from only $19.99 - $59.99 for apparel and $19.99 - $49.99 for handbags and scarves, and will be available in most Target stores and online at Target.com.
